
Domenic Tesone, Partner
After graduating from the University of Western Ontario in 1989 with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and an emphasis on politics and business, Domenic accepted a position with Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, working as a production underwriter in the Inland Marine department handling air, ocean and truck cargo.
With experience gained at Chubb, he accepted a position with a major Toronto insurance brokerage, specializing in large transportation business. After working for a few years at the brokerage, Domenic moved on and accepted a position in his home town of Hamilton with the Dalton Insurance Group as an Account Executive. Domenic’s lead role was to create a transportation insurance division for the company.
In 1997, Dalton Insurance merged into Dalton Timmis Insurance Group, where Domenic became partner. Today Domenic continues to grow the commercial transportation portfolio for the company.

John Oldfield, Transportation Specialist
John has been involved in the transportation industry since 1974 in roles as diverse as Driver, Safety & Compliance Manager, Terminal Manager and Systems Analyst in many types of operations from van, reefer, flatbed, over-dimensional, tank and dry-bulk fleets.
John became a Registered Insurance Broker in 1995 and a Certified Risk Manager in 2004. He currently manages a book of trucking clients from single-truck owner/operator accounts to large fleets. Throughout his career, John has developed and implemented specialized risk management programs for the trucking industry, maintaining strong relationships with a number of insurance companies and key industry suppliers.
Other roles included as past President of the Hamilton Transportation Club in 2005 and involvement in the Toronto Transportation Association, Toronto Transportation Club, Ontario Trucking Association and THSAO Council of Driver Trainers.
John's extensive background in the trucking and insurance industry is a great asset Dalton Timmis and its clients as he understands the business from the ground up and is able to provide customized insurance and risk management programs that are effective in ensuring success.

Lorraine Powell, Claim Coordinator
With more than 15 years of hands-on claims experience, and a holder of a RIBO license, Lorraine effectively interprets and assesses policies and guidelines to apply coverage for various types of claims, which ensured compliance and enhanced service and customer satisfaction.
She has developed strategies with underwriting and risk management departments to improve and provide better controls, resulting in a decreased number of claims, as well as an increased profit margin. Lorraine effectively handles customer/broker/underwriting inquiries and complaints taking ownership for resolutions. She consistently attends insurance-related seminars learning new techniques, guidelines, case law and website researching techniques to better perform job-related duties while providing in-house claims training for staff.
Lorraine works on behalf of our clients and acts as an intermediary between them and adjusters. She provides guidance through the claims process and trend analysis. Lorraine acts as an in-house resource on all corporate and transportation claims matters.
In addition to these tasks, she conducts seminars for our service and sales professionals on specific claims issues that arise because of Legislation changes or client feedback, keeping up-to-date on all critical matters. Client visits are also provided to review claims processes and risk management counsel.
